Hi, I am Ashley
ABOUT ME!
EDUCATION
I'm a clinical educator that entered her career - like many people do... not quite knowing what career I was entering. I must say, had it not been for the wonderful mentorship and colleagues placed in my path, I may not have made it through nursing and even through this odd thing called "juggling my profession and everything else"! I genuinely enjoy helping others see their potential, helping others learn - in the academic setting, and also helping others learn how to speak up when appropriate. My key career interests are education quality, interprofessional education, patient safety, and the impact that healthcare cultures have on patient care.

Interprofessional Education
I received my MSN from Augusta University (formerly known as Medical College of Georgia) with a focus on being a Clinical Nurse Leader. Engaged in systems thinking with an interest in pediatrics, I began my career as a pediatric registered nurse while working on hospital committees to improve patient care and improve communication systems. While working as a staff nurse, I realized I enjoyed working with the intermittent flow of nursing students. That was the beginning of my career in education. I have taught in community college and university level nursing programs. I have also developed curriculum for transition to practice nursing programs and now work as a Simulation Clinical Educator to assist in the development of physician, nursing, and allied health simulation curriculum and faculty development. I have experience teaching young adults at the collegiate level and facilitating robust workshops at international conferences.
